All are welcome...
Epiphany, January 6, is a Christian holiday celebrating the revelation of God in his Son, coming to earth as the incarnation of Jesus Christ. In Western Christianity, the feast remembers the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child. When the Magi looked upon the child their minds were opened, they were given greater understanding, and “they worshipped him.” The themes of light, understanding and seeing are part of the Epiphany commemoration. The gospel writer John refers to Jesus as the light of the world, who came to earth to overcome the darkness.
As a way of representing this power of light over darkness, we held an EPIPHANY BONFIRE at Taconic. We had a brief discussion of the meaning of Epiphany, followed by a huge bonfire, lots of snacks, and good fellowship.
Thank you Jake for building a great bonfire!
